Self Massage: An Awesome Alternative To Enhance Good Health

Massaging oneself is an easy and some say a very useful way of maintaining good health. It has innumerable benefits, as it is believed it can help to cure headaches, insomnia, pain , body ache, tension, stress etc. Imagine how massaging relieves so many ailments with just a simple touch of our hand.

Some medical studies have indicated that a touch can be of great value. Studies show that in some families where parents and children constantly touch other with love are more happy. Such families share more love, affection and understanding than in most of the other families where this practice doesn not exist.

So here are some massage lessons that you can perform by yourself on different parts of the body:

* First you need to take a warm bath to loosen up all your muscles. A bit of Epsom salt will help to reduce soreness if there is any.

* Than dry yourself properly with a towel or with the help of a dryer.

* You should not wear any clothes while you massage. This is important as skin to skin contact is more effective than through cloth. A massage lotion is ultimately necessary. In the absence of such of a lotion, you can use a sports balm also. This can also loosen down your muscles.Be careful to only apply a sports balm to muscle areas and not near the face, eyes or more delicate skin areas.

* When you are massaging your neck and shoulders, you should start from the back of your head. First work with your fingers in small circles. Remember not to lotion your hair. Slowly work down the shoulders and arms until you reach down to the hands. If you experience any knots, work it with small circles with your fingers. Always keep your fingers well lubricated with either lotion or the balm. After all the knots are cleared, you should stretch out your arms.

* Massaging your lower back For this, you can wear the clothes. Than take up a rolled up yoga mat, a blanket or a towel. Than place it on the floor. After that you should lie down on it with your face up. You should lie down in such a position that your butt and the shoulder should touch the floor and your lower back should be positioned on the mat. After this, stretch your arm and than roll yourself while targeting the lower back slowly.

* Massaging the feet This is very simple as you just need to place one hand on the top of the foot while the other under your sole. Then, simply stroke your feet from toes to ankles and vice versa. Repeat this procedure for sometime. Also to get more relief you can squeeze down the portion below your fingers especially the thumb finger.

With these effective tips to guide you, try out a massage on yourself. After your massage you may even feel younger, more confident and beautiful at no extra cost at all.
